Vrdolyak was also a partner at Ungaretti & Harris, later called Ungaretti, Vrdolyak & Associates and finally known as Cassidy, Vrdolyak & Bielski LLP before retiring in 2015. His father was a steelworker of Croatian descent and his mother was an immigrant from Slovakia. Ed grew up on the South Side of Chicago and attended public schools before enrolling at DePaul University’s College of Law. 

He began practicing law in 1963, becoming a partner at the prominent law firm of Klenovich & Vrdolyak in 1965. Ed was also an advocate for civil rights and organized reform in Chicago’s legal system. His family has remained important to Ed, who is married with two children.
