Mike Durant (born July 23, 1961) is a retired US Army Chief Warrant Officer 4 and pilot. Durant was born to David and Rosemary Durant in Berlin, New Hampshire. He has two brothers, Dave and Tom. Durant is married to LeeAnn Hooper and together they have three children: Christopher, Joshua, and Elizabeth.

Durant joined the Army in 1979, becoming a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter pilot. He was part of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) during his service with the Army. In 1993, Durant was among the US forces that took part in Operation Gothic Serpent in Somalia and it was during this operation that he was captured by Somali forces and held for 11 days.
